In the past, metal frames were needed around shower doors in order to hold the glass in place. In recent years, however, frameless shower doors have become much more popular.

Frameless shower doors retain shower water just as effectively as the old "metal framed doors." In addition, they actually increase the longevity of the shower doors by not using the shower door framing.

Frameless shower doors are also much easier to keep clean since you do not have all the crevices from the metal in which the water and soap will deposit. These deposits create mildew and corrosion, actually decreasing the life of your shower doors. Frameless shower doors can be cleaned to look like new with a good glass cleaner.

The frameless shower door glass is 3/8" to 1/2" thick with tempered safety glass, making it much more durable and scratch resistant than a thick glass table top you might see in a dining room.
